Christmas 2018

The large West Barn Gallery next to my studio is hosting the annual Christmas exhibition starting Saturday 17th November. I am unveiling a short serties of small paintings of flowers that have been knawing away at my brain, demanding to be painted! Aquilegia, tulips, wallflowers and the first peopny for years! If you can get along to the gallery to see them in the flesh, it will be well worth it.

Also specially for the season I am introducing the first of my range of silk scarves. Produced by the team previously responsible for the Liberty of London scarves, 'No. 1' depists my new painting 'Blue Iris Rhapsody' . The scarf measures 90cm x 90cm and is printed in Italy. It comes in a bespoke single drawer box to present and protect it. This scarf is the first in a range each of which will be limited to an edition of 200. The first 40 are £115 each. Thereafter, the pice will rise to £125. To book your order and make sure you don't miss out, please use the contact page on the website or email me directly on sarah@sarahcaswell.co.uk

My very first 24 month calendar is now available to pre-order. It features 12 large images and covers the whole of 2019 AND 2020. I have held the price to the same level as the old 12 month calendars and they are available on the website or in the gallery.

My small gallery space continues to show a selection of my work and following the end of the exhibition the gallery will be rehung for the (nearly) Sumer season with plenty to enjoy for everyone including 'The Sun' my 150cm diameter tondo of sunflowers kindly supplied by the Sandringham Estate Cafe & Restaurant.

New things to view and buy

The range of greeting cards and prints has been updated with new images drawn from the latest portfolio. Three images from the 2018 Chelsea exhibit will also be availiable shortly as large canvas or paper prints in truly breathtaking quality. When available they will appear in the 'Print' gallery for The Tulip Kings, Arise & Ember Glow.

A new range of tablemats and small birchwood trays are now available and can be seen and bought via the 'tableware' gallery.

I do hope you will come to see us at the Walsingham Gallery if you are in the area. Otherwise, keep an eye on the website and order your choices online.

If you are planning on visiting the Studio at Great Walsingham Barns it is open 10am til 4.30pm Tuesday to Sunday. If you want to make sure that I am there rather than a colleague, please email or phone ahead as I would not want to miss you.

Facebook Twitter and Instagram are up and running for the most up to date info.

If you would like to receive messages via email regarding new work or exhibitions, please write to me at sarah@sarahcaswell.co.uk

Original Paintings

Original pieces are available from this site (available pieces are indicated in the 'Originals' tab.  the archive of sold pieces are seen in 'Gallery' & 'Commissions'). You can also visit Sarah at her studio which is open most days at Walsingham Barns, Hindringham Road, Great Walsingham, Norfolk, NR22 6DR.  If you make a long journey, please do phone ahead (07747613395) to make sure it is a painting day!

Sarah will also consider your commissions incorporating a favourite flower or composing a piece of a specific size for your space - take a look at the 'Gallery' and 'Commissions' pages to see what collectors own already.

Reproductions

Practical Reproductions - I am a strong believer in giving you the opportunity to see the flowers at a time and place (and price) that suits you and so have always included reproductions that are practical.

A growing selection of Sarah's images are now available as reproductions. These are the 4 images available as tablemats and coasters from 11th August...

From the start, prints and greetings cards have formed a key part of the range. Prints range from £25 to £495 and cards for £2.50 each.  All images appear on the 'prints' or 'greeting cards' pages where details of format, size and prices are being added all the time.

New items have been added or updated;

Calendars - the updated Birthdays calendar is available and can be viewed under the Calendars tab. The next annual calendar will be available mid 2018 as I am moving to producing them Bi-Annually.

Melamine Tablemats - 18 images have been turned into beautiful melamine mats with thick board and green baize backings. Coasters, tablemats and large mats/servers are available in tough, hardwearing melamine.

Glass Worktop Savers, Platters & Coasters - Recylced, toughened glass, built to withstand 280 degrees and dishwasher safe in 10 designs. Oh and they look stunning when you prop them up on the window sill with the light shining through...#servingsuggestion

Birchwood Trays - The latest item added to the range. After an extensive search, I found these fabulous handmade Swedish birchwood trays. They are robust, light, dishwasher safe and certified sustainable wood...oh and reproduce my paintings ridiculously well...there are two different sizes with three designs each available.

Tablemats, Worktop Savers and Trays all available under the Tableware tab.

About Sarah

Sarah attended the Sir John Cass School of Art in London where she attained a BA in Silversmithing. During this time she explored three dimensional art and design in non-ferrous metals. Sarah has also spent time in the commercial fashion world; working as a milliner for Stephen Jones in London and running an outlet selling her own fashion/millinery/jewellery designs in Melbourne, Australia. Throughout this time (and during a sojourn into the world of finance and share dealing) Sarah retained her love of traditional painting.

Sarah Supports Fight For Sight

As a painter of really large, really bright paintings...and having slightly dodgy vision Sarah has chosen to lend support to "Fight for Sight" which funds research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease helping people to RETAIN their sight.  Sarah's fund raising efforts for them include running the London Marathon and various donations. She hopes that you will support future efforts as they arise.
